Corona swallowed 618 lives in Pakistan, 27,474 affected

ISLAMABAD: The death toll from corona virus in Pakistan has risen to 619 while the number of corona patients has reached 27,474.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 1,637 people in Pakistan have been confirmed to have corona virus and 24 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

7,756 patients have been cured of corona virus in the country.

So far, 9,691 cases of corona have been reported in Sindh. The virus has been confirmed in 10,471 people in Punjab, 4,327 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,876 in Balochistan, 609 in Islamabad, 79 in Azad Kashmir and 421 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the highest number of 221 deaths due to corona virus. 176 were killed in Sindh, 191 in Punjab, 24 in Balochistan, 04 in Islamabad and three in Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, the condition of 163 corona patients in the country is critical.

In the last 24 hours, 12,982 tests have been conducted across the country while a total of 270,025 tests have been conducted.

It has been more than two months since the outbreak of Corona virus in Pakistan. Initially, the growth rate of cases was slow but now it is increasing rapidly.

It may be recalled that the first case of Corona virus in Pakistan was reported in Karachi on February 26, 2020, a month after which the number of cases had reached one thousand by March 25.

The first death from corona virus in the country occurred on March 18 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the death toll has risen to 619.
