Twitter affixes warning label to a tweet regarding US President Donald Trump's postal ballot

The social networking site Twitter has for the first time labeled a series of tweets from US President Donald Trump as a "fact check".

The 'fact check' label is affixed to Twitter posts that provide allegedly inaccurate or misleading information.

On Tuesday, President Trump said in a tweet that casting his vote (or postal ballot) through the mail-in-the-mail system was, in fact, nothing short of fraud.

"Mailboxes will be looted, ballots will be forged and even illegally printed out and fraudulently signed," he added in the tweet. The governor of California is sending millions of people (postal) ballots.

Expressing his concerns, President Trump added: Anyone who lives in any state, regardless of who they are or how they get there, will get a (postal ballot). Professionals will then tell all of them how and who to vote for. Most (voters) will be people who have never thought about voting. It will be a rigged election. no way
Following President Trump's series of tweets, a warning label was affixed by Twitter and an explanatory note was written by the organization.

Over the past few days, President Trump has made a number of unconfirmed claims about the authenticity of the Mail in the Ballot.

The label affixed to the bottom of the US President's tweet by Twitter suggests users to find out the facts about  Mail in Belts' here.

The label provides a link where there is a lot of news on the matter and this note is also written. Fact checkers have found no such evidence that the postal ballot is a source of electoral fraud.

Earlier, the Twitter administration promised to expand the scope of warning labels on its site to include false and misleading information, but in the case of the US President, Twitter has been slow in the recent past.

However, Twitter has now responded to President Trump's tweet, saying it contained  potentially misleading information about the voting process.

Earlier this month, Twitter adapted the company's warning label policy to the latest ground realities.

Earlier, Twitter had decided not to remove President Trump's tweet from its site in connection with the 2001 death of Lori Closetis.

President Trump made a few tweets that could mean that Lori was killed by MSNBC anchor Joe Scarborough.

Lori's husband, Timothy Closetis, had asked Twitter to delete President Trump's tweet, but Twitter refused to do so.

However, the Twitter administration did express regret that it was saddened by President Trump's statement.

President Trump's response
President Trump has also expressed outrage at Twitter's move.

Twitter is stifling freedom of expression, and as president I will not allow that to happen,  he said in a tweet.

Twitter is now interfering in the 2020 presidential election,  he added. He (Twitter) is saying that my statement regarding mail in the ballot, which will lead to massive corruption and fraud, is wrong. (This claim) is based on an investigation by Fake News CNN and the Washington Post
