Smuggling from Pakistan to India, shortage of petrol and diesel in many cities

Many cities in Pakistan are facing shortage of petrol and diesel during Eid.

The supply of petrol at several petrol pumps in different cities of the country including Karachi has been cut off due to which the citizens are facing severe difficulties. The oil supply chain has been disrupted due to one month ban on imports due to Corona. Due to which the oil reserves in Pakistan have been depleted.

Private TV Geo News has claimed that oil is cheaper in Pakistan while it is twice as expensive in India due to which oil is being smuggled there.

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the Petroleum Division said that there is an 11-day stock of petrol to meet the demand of the country. The country has a stock of 255,000 tonnes of petrol. A ship of 58,000 tonnes of petrol has been anchored in Kemari. Marketing companies have been directed to speed up the logistics movement for oil supply.
