One soldier martyred, 3 injured in blast in north waziristan


Miranshah: A soldier was martyred and three others were injured when an explosive device exploded in a crowded bazaar near Mirali area of ​​North Waziristan tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Police confirmed the testimony of a military official identified as Amir. The blast took place near Nizamia Mosque in Eidik Bazaar.

The blast damaged at least 14 vehicles parked in the bazaar, police said in a statement.

The statement said security forces were patrolling the bazaar when a remote-controlled device exploded near their vehicle.

Police said that Hawaldar Arshad, soldier Abdul Manan and Islam Nabi were injured in the incident and were shifted to a local hospital.

After the blast, the Mirali to Miramshah highway was closed to traffic and forces conducted a search operation.

It may be recalled that on May 7, two Pakistan Army personnel were martyred in a rocket attack on a security check post in North Waziristan.

In the past month, 13 security personnel have been martyred and nine injured in militant attacks in North Waziristan District.

Earlier on April 26, two Pakistani soldiers were martyred and nine terrorists were killed during an operation by security forces against terrorists in North Waziristan.
