KABUL: Suicide car bombings and clashes in Afghanistan have killed 10 people, including three policemen, and injured 40 others.

A suicide bomber struck an Afghan National Security Forces building in Ghazni, killing seven people and wounding more than 40, according to a foreign news agency.

Meanwhile, in Khaki Safid district of Farah province, the Taliban shot dead district police chief Toofan Nawarizi. Meanwhile, a Taliban group attacked a police check post in Regi district, killing two police officers and injuring four others.

The militants also took control of the outpost. Yesterday, 35 Taliban militants were killed in an airstrike by Afghan forces. According to Afghan media, Afghan forces launched air strikes on the Taliban in the Afghan provinces of Paktika and Paktia. Earlier, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had ordered Afghan forces to step up offensive operations instead of defending themselves.

According to the news agency, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani gave these orders after the operations in which more than two dozen people were killed and dozens were injured.
