Sources in Venezuela say government officials have stockpiled about nine tonnes of gold and flown it to Tehran this month. The total value of this gold is 50 500 million. The gold was sent in exchange for Iran's help in reviving a failed petrol refinery in Venezuela.


According to a report published in Al Arabiya, Venezuela's economic crisis has torn the country apart. At present, only 3 6.3 billion in cash remains in the national treasury. This is the lowest amount of cash in three decades. It looks like the two countries want to work together to counter US sanctions and a sharp drop in oil prices.
