Corona virus: 40 deaths a day in the country, the medical community divided over the easing of lockdown
ISalamabad: While the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has finalized proposals for easing sanctions, the medical community appears divided over the federal government's proposal, with the highest number of 40 deaths in a single day in the country. Also come forward.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of National Health Services, the proposals include the second phase of the construction industry, opening retail shops and activating some outpatient departments (OPDs) in Islamabad hospitals.
According to the Dawn newspaper, it also suggested that shops and malls be kept open from 9 to 5 in the morning and from 8 to 10 at night.
However, doctors fear that easing the lockdown would be disastrous for the country, but some have said that Pakistan has no choice but to protect its people from the 'hunger virus'.
Talking to Dawn in this regard, Dr. Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences, said that he was in favor of sanctions but since the government is looking at it from a different angle, he would suggest increasing the number of tests. Lockdown should be relaxed with
He said that there is no doubt that daily wage earners and other sections of the society are suffering from economic problems. Prime Minister Imran Khan has repeatedly said that he has to take care of the poor. Pakistan is not a rich country and this problem will be solved soon. do not have.
That is why I would suggest that we should relax the lockdown but increase the number of tests, he said.
He said that at present Al-Khidmat Foundation is conducting Corona test at Rs. 3,000 and Bahria Town at Rs. 2,000. The government should include philanthropists and reduce the cost of the test.
On the other hand, Dr. Asfner Yar, President of Young's Doctors Association of Pakistan, disagreed with this proposal.
I was shocked to hear suggestions for opening OPDs and shopping malls. I fear it will increase the number of patients many times over and destroy the health system, he said.
We live in a country where even doctors can't get ventilators, so we have to think about what will happen after the easing of restrictions, so I think this proposal is disastrous and should be reconsidered, he added.
