Chinese hackers are trying to steal US research on Corona
US officials have accused Chinese-backed hackers of trying to steal US research into the corona virus.
According to the British news agency Reuters, the US FBI and Homeland Security in a joint statement on Wednesday warned the US health and scientific research institutes to be careful about cyber theft.
The FBI is investigating attempts by Chinese cyber actors to steal digital information from US companies, the joint statement said.
According to the statement, the FBI has been monitoring the efforts of US agencies to steal Corona's vaccines, treatment, public health data and intellectual property.
The statement did not mention hackers or targeting organizations.
The Chinese embassy in the United States was not immediately available for comment.
Corona virus research and data has become a preferred target for all types of hackers.
According to a Reuters report last week, hackers affiliated with Iran had targeted the American pharmaceutical company G-Lead Sciences INC, whose antiviral drug Remedicavir has so far proved effective in treating Corona.
It may be recalled that two days ago, news was also published in American newspapers quoting sources that the United States could accuse Chinese hackers of stealing Corona virus research.
