Can C-Pack plan fail or not? New US report released but what about Pak-India relations? Details come out

Washington : The US Center for World Policy, which has repeatedly raised objections to the Pak-China Economic Corridor, has released its latest report on C-Pack. The report says that it is no longer possible to thwart the C-Pack project.

In order to deal with China in Pakistan, it is necessary for the United States to focus on regional stability in the context of Pak-India tensions.

In this report of Daniel Markey, the US has given the title of how to deal with China in Pakistan. In his report, Daniel Markey clarified that along with the statements regarding C-Pack, practical changes have also taken place. Now it has gone beyond the fear of failure, it cannot fail. Markey writes that it has become politically and socially impossible to fail.

The report said that the United States should keep one eye on regional stability in the context of Pak-India tensions and the other on the long-term geographical challenges posed by China's growing influence in the region.

The report says that the first phase of the C-Pack, which began in April 2015 after a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Islamabad, slowed down due to Pakistani institutions, but gained momentum in the second phase.

The report states that whenever concerns were raised by the Trump administration, including Ellis Wells, about the project, not only China but also Pakistan reacted strongly.

According to China, it has provided employment to 75,000 Pakistanis under the project. Pakistan is also grateful to its Iron and Four Seasons friend for this project based on the interests of both the countries.

He said that China is an important partner and lifeline of Pakistan while C-Pac is a test case for China to export both China's development model and an important project.

Reviewing China's influence in Pakistan, Daniel Markey, a Chinese expert at the Carnegie Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Washington, highlighted the need to address growing tensions between India and Pakistan.

Over the past year, India and Pakistan have once again reached the brink of war. This winter, another military crisis may erupt between India and Pakistan,  he warned.

He urged the Trump administration to appreciate Beijing's role as a potential diplomatic partner in preventing India and Pakistan from going to war.

He added that  if tensions in Sino-US relations prevent cooperation between the two countries in the South Asian crisis, all parties will be defeated.

Daniel Markey pointed out that at the moment Washington sees Indian military strikes against Pakistan as a "justifiable response" while Beijing has a responsibility to  respond with full force  to Pakistan's aggression against its larger neighbor. Emphasizes

This is unfortunately dangerous. Both the United States and China will have to reschedule future diplomatic engagements from New Delhi and Islamabad, he said.

He said that while tensions between India and Pakistan should be the "first and foremost concern" for US policymakers, they should also consider China's influence on plans for a full withdrawal from Afghanistan.
